6th Biennial RSA Summer Institute
University of Wisconsin
Madison, WI
June 1 - 7, 2015

The 2015 RSA Summer Institute in Madison, Wisconsin, will provide the widest array of seminars and workshops since the first summer institute was held in 2005. With seven seminars and twenty-one workshops, the Summer Institute at Madison presents outstanding opportunities for scholars of all ranks and in all areas of rhetorical study to work with leading voices in the field.

The Summer Institute in Madison will be held from Monday June 1 through Sunday June 7, 2015.

We are especially pleased to offer a number of workshops focused on the professional development of teacher-scholars in rhetoric. They will include Jason Palmeri’s workshop on “digital ‘making,’” which will engage participants in analyzing and creating multimodal works of rhetorical scholarship; Mike Hogan’s workshop on securing grant, development, and institutional support for interdisciplinary rhetorical work; and a workshop offered by Jim Jasinski, the editor of Rhetoric Society Quarterly, on navigating the complexities of getting published in the field.

Note: The seminars will take place Monday through Friday morning; the workshops will take place Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. There will be the luncheon at midday on Friday, with workshops beginning Friday afternoon, running all day Saturday, and Sunday morning. The entire institute will end midday on Sunday.

Over the next few months, until the RSA Conference in San Antonio, please return to the RSA Institute website for more information on the 2015 Summer Institute in Madison – about the workshop and seminar offerings, about travel and lodging, and about the city of Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
