This year has been for ISHR, in spite of the postponement of the conference, a busy and eventful year. After our online Council meeting in the Summer, we have recently had an extraordinary council meeeting to discuss several urgent matters. The most important issue at this moment is the need to shift the conference from 26-30 July, 2022 to 2-6 August 2022, due to a large sport event that will take up all the hotel space in Nijmegen during the week of 26-30 July. A list of hotels will be posted on the ISHR website in the course of January 2022.
Despite this unexpected brief postponement and the challenges posed by the Covid-19 Pandemic, our Society is flourishing. In order to prepare the Society for a future in which more activities will take place remotely, we are working on a renewal and improvement of our website. The second call for papers has yielded a large number of submissions, making the total of accepted papers around three hundred. We hope that the conference will be a normal one, but in the event that this will not be possible, everything is in place to make it a hybrid or fully online conference.
On behalf of the ISHR Council and Directors I wish you all Happy Holidays and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
