The International Society for the History of Rhetoric sponsors six research grants annually to support scholars engaged in advanced research related to the theory and practice of rhetoric across all periods and languages and the relationship of rhetoric to poetics, literary theory and criticism, philosophy, politics, religion, law, and other aspects of the socio-cultural context. (Grants may not be used for research designed to further pedagogy in rhetorical speaking and writing.)
We are now calling for applicants for next year’s grants. The application deadline is November 15, 2023. To encourage our early-career membership, ISHR will seek to award at least one of the annual fellowships to a promising graduate student or post-doc.
For further information on how to apply can be found on the ISHR website.
