Announcing the 2018 Mellon/ACLS Public Fellows competition - deadline March 14, 2018

Dear colleagues,

Greetings from ACLS! I am pleased to announce the opening of the eighth annual Mellon/ACLS Public Fellows competition. In 2018, the program will place up to 25 recent humanities PhDs in two-year positions at the nonprofits and government agencies listed below. Public Fellows will participate in the core work of these partner organizations while benefiting from professional mentoring and other career building opportunities. Each fellowship carries a stipend of $67,500 per year, as well as individual health insurance, a relocation stipend, and $3,000 toward professional development activities. The program is made possible by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

This year’s Public Fellows will take on substantive roles in communications, program management, international affairs, civic engagement, public policy, development, and digital media and will work on issues such as civil rights, cultural preservation, diversity and inclusion, environmental conservation, economic development, and immigration.
