JASINSKI APPOINTED NEXT EDITOR OF RSQ
JASINSKI APPOINTED NEXT EDITOR OF RSQ
James Jasinski, Professor of Communication Studies at the University of Puget Sound and outgoing department chair, has been named editor-elect of Rhetoric Society Quarterly. His appointment was announced during the RSA conference in Minneapolis.
For now, you should continue to send your best work to the current editor, Carolyn R. Miller at North Carolina State University. Professor Miller still has pages uncommitted for 2011. Professor Jasinski will begin receiving manuscripts around March 2011. You will be notified by e-bulletin when the transition occurs. Jasinski’s four-year editorial term will encompass the issues dated 2012 through 2015.
Jasinski is best known for his Sourcebook on Rhetoric. He also has written over 25 peer-reviewed essays and a host of conference papers and book reviews. His research and teaching are in the areas of rhetorical criticism, history of U.S. public discourse, political communication, and African American rhetoric. He has served on the editorial board of five different journals.
I want to thank Jeffrey Walker, University of Texas, who chaired the selection committee that recommended Jim Jasinski’s appointment. Under Jim’s editorship, I am confident that RSQ will continue on the upward trajectory that recent editors have established.
