RSA-Second Annual Graduate Student Webinar-Recap

RitaDWRL Webinar Raley, Associate Professor at UC Santa Barbara, visited The University of Texas at Austin on February 15, 2013, to deliver her talk "From Creative Cloning to Where-Next: Tactical Media as Speculative Practice." The event marked the 10th anniversary of the annual Speaker Series at UT's Digital Writing and Research Lab (DWRL). Positioned at the intersection of rhetoric, writing, and technology, the DWRL dedicates itself to the identification and promotion of twenty-first century literacies.

RSA sponsored the talk as their second annual graduate student webinar. The RSA webinar was held live via Google+ hangout embedded on the DWRL website and accompanied by a Twitter feed (#ritaraley) that allowed remote participants to ask questions and discuss the talk with one another in real time. RSA registered participants from more than a dozen states and two continents! RSA hosted the first graduate student webinar in 2012 to facilitate connection between graduate student chapters and to provide an opportunity to discuss matters relevant to the field across the entire RSA community.
