ISHR mail ... Colloquium for Ancient Rhetoric
This brief note is to inform you about yet another source of digital programming in the history of rhetoric.
The Colloquium for Ancient Rhetoric was co-founded a few years back by Professor Irene Peirano Garrison (Harvard), Dr. Laura Viidebaum (NYU), and Dr. Niek Janssen (Amherst College). They have created a space in which scholars of ancient rhetoric can present work-in-progress, receive one-on-one critical and supportive engagement from fellow experts, and then hear from the other experts on the line.
They warmly welcome your attendance via Zoom at noon Eastern Time on these dates, all of which are Fridays, to hear these scholars share their in-progress research (and these scholars share their reactions) on a variety of topics in ancient rhetoric:
13 October: Jacqueline Arthur-Montagne (Claire Jackson)
1 December: Scott DiGiulio (Michael Trapp)
26 January: Markus Asper (TBD)
29 March: Lucas Amaya (TBD)
If you’d like to attend any (or all!) installments of this lecture series, please register. Once you register, you will receive an invite to a shared Google folder that holds the work-in-progress, which is not for distribution. If you have friends you think would be interested in attending, simply forward them this email or the registration link.
Digital events sponsored or promoted by ISHR are featured on the ISHR website.
