Immagini e voci del silenzio

Several scholars, belonging to Italian and foreign institutions, interested in different, but complementary, scientific fields, have agreed to focus their attention on the many and various aspects of the silence, of its forms and of its representations.

The Conference “Immagini e voci del silenzio” is therefore the result of this situation, in particular of the longstanding collaboration between scholars of the Università di Chieti-Pescara and scholars of some French Universities linked to the équioe C.R.I.S.E.S. of the Université Paul Valéry Montpellier 3, under the supervision of Marie-Pierre Noël.

In the last few years the researches of this group have been devoted to a deeper investigation of the relationship silence / words, as proved by the successful workshops that have been held at the Université Paul Valéry Montpellier 3: Le geste et la parole  (9-10 dicembre 2010); Le silence. Plus haute sagesse de l’homme? Formes et fonctions politiques, littéraires et philosophiques du silence dans l’antiquité gréco-romaine  I (9-10 dicembre 2011 ) e II  (14-15 dicembre 2012). 

This year, in the Conference “Immagini e voci del silenzio” we want to take into account not only different texts or contexts in which the power of the silence works better than the power of the words, but also texts or contexts that apparently mute need to be interpreted with the help of  tools other than verbal or visual.  Click the following link for information on the Program: Program
